Army Admonishes Air Force — And We Were There!

All,

What a great week end for Army against Air Force.

This past week end the crowd grew for the first important game towards getting the Commander in Chief Trophy.

We even had encouragement from Peter Haglin ’75 who traveled all the way from Sequim, WA. Glad he made the trip for the victory and promises to bring more grads from the tip of the peninsula.

Cadet Donnell Diego’s parents stopped in to cheer the team as well as CG, 7th ID. Old grad in attendance was still retired MG John Hemphill ’51. He might need to lead us in a rocket next game. Youngest grads present were Anthony and Marissa Caruso USMA ’14. (a 63 year time span represented – Hooah!!!)

The best part of the whole time was in the second half when a young man wandered in wearing an Air Force shirt. Talk about an ambush. He graduated from the USAFA only this year, just arrived at JBLM and did an internet search for sports bars. The Fan Club came up on top so he walked in wondering if they would have the Air Force game on the TV. Boy was he surprised to find out the he had just walked into a complex ambush of USMA grads cheering for Army. What a sport, he pulled up a chair and joined us. Needless to say, he was not going to be the only one singing the Air Force Academy Alma Mater 😊 He could have used some encouragement from the Air Force Leadership, but glad to have him join us.

See everyone for the next victory which will be against Duke at 0900hrs at the Fan Club in Lakewood.

Army Beats Fordham … And We Were There

On 01 September 2017, members of the classes of ’58, ’64 , ’76, and ’81 gathered at the Fan Club Sports Bar in Lakewood, WA to watch Army decisively show that they are a viable force on the field (final: 64-6, Army).  And we were there.  Many push ups and cheers.  The waitresses were also wearing Army spirit shirts.

And unveiled the newest addition to our cheer squad – Dwight, the Knight, who is pictured in photos below.

We will again form at the Fan Club on Saturday 09Sep17 at 0900 for the next Army win, against the Buffalo Bulls.
